Welcome to our Year 3 page. We have a really exciting year ahead of us this year with lots to look forward to.

Our P.E. days this term are Wednesdays and Thursdays. However, please make sure your child has their P.E. kits in every day in case of timetable changes. Could all clothing be clearly named also to avoid anything getting lost.

Homework is an important part of the learning process and we appreciate the time that you spend prompting and assisting your child with their homework. We set English and Maths homework on Fridays and they are both due on Wednesdays. These homework activities should be completed in their homework books.

Children are expected to read for 30 minutes every day and record this in their Home-School books. Even if your child can read independently, we recommend that you do still hear your child read regularly.  We would encourage parents to ask their child questions about what they read to help them develop their comprehension skills. If you would like some guidance on questions you could ask, please ask your child's class teacher.

Home-School books will be checked weekly.

At the end of the day:

  • Parents wait and collect their children outside the classrooms.
  • All children need to be collected by an adult unless we have written permission that your child can walk home.
  • Please let the office know if collection arrangements change or if you are running late.

If you would like to speak to your child's class teacher, we are usually available at the end of the day once the children have been dismissed. If you would like to arrange an appointment to speak with us, please phone or e-mail the school office and we will arrange a meeting.
