Welcome to our Year 3 page. We have a really exciting year ahead of us this year with lots to look forward to.
Our P.E. days this term are Wednesdays and Fridays. However, please make sure your child has their P.E. kits in every day in case of timetable changes. Could all clothing be clearly named also to avoid anything getting lost.
Homework is an important part of the learning process and we appreciate the time that you spend prompting and assisting your child with their homework. We set English and Maths homework on Mondays and they are both due on Friday. These homework activities should be completed in their homework books.
Spellings will be set weekly on a Monday and will be tested the following week. Children are expected to practise their spellings throughout the week.
Children are expected to read for 30 minutes every day and record this in their Home-School books. Even if your child can read independently, we recommend that you do still hear your child read regularly. We would encourage parents to ask their child questions about what they read to help them develop their comprehension skills. If you would like some guidance on questions you could ask, please ask your child's class teacher.
Home-School books will be checked regularly.
At the end of the day:
- Parents wait and collect their children outside the classrooms.
- All children need to be collected by an adult unless we have written permission that your child can walk home.
- Please let the office know if collection arrangements change or if you are running late.
If you have any concerns, please come in and see us at the end of the day, leave a message with the office or send us an email to arrange a time to speak with us.
