Welcome to the year 4 page! There is much to look forward to across the next three terms and we aim to keep you updated throughout the year. Please check back regularly for updates and photos.
Swimming has now finished and P.E. will now return to Thursday mornings. Please could you ensure that children bring the appropriate kit, with each item individually named.
Each week, children will be set a maths task and an English task. These activities will build on what has been learnt in class and should not take longer than 30 minutes per task. Both of these tasks will be given out on Wednesday and be returned no later than the following Monday. In addition to this, children will receive weekly spelling lists to learn each Monday as well as practising their times tables.
Children are expected to read for 30 minutes every day. This should be recorded in their home-school diaries. Whilst children are welcome to read independently we recommend that you listen to your child read as often as possible. We also encourage you to ask them questions about what they are reading to aid their understanding and comprehension of texts.
Home-school diaries are checked every Monday and children should bring them to school each day.
End of the day
All children need to be collected by an adult from outside of the classroom, unless attending an after school club. If your child is being collected by a different adult or going home with another child, please inform us in writing either with a letter or email as we will not let your child go unless we or the office have been notified.
Please feel free to contact us by email and we will reply as soon as possible. However, please be aware that we are unable to view or respond to emails during school hours so if there is something you wish us to know for that day please phone the office. If you wish to speak directly to us, we are happy to see you after school or by appointment before school.
We look forward to enjoying an exciting and rewarding year!
