All about me!
Our focus this half term will be getting to know your children and helping them to settle in this new setting. We will be sharing facts about our home lives and all about ourselves - our favourite colour, food, our family etc.
We will be helping the children to develop their confidence as well as their social and communication skills. We will help them to start to build new friendships and introduce them to a wide range of resources - both in doors and out!

Nursery
Welcome to Rainbows Nursery
If you are interested in applying for a place at our Nursery, please find our Nursery Admissions information on our Admissions page.
Beginning of the school day
Nursery starts at 9:00am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesday is a split day. The morning session starts at 8:45am and finishes at 11:45am. The afternoon session starts at 12:15am and finishes at 3:15pm
Please see our 'Starting Nursery Brochure' for more information about the Nursery school day.
Book Bag
Please bring your child's book bag to school every day. We use the book bags to send home letters and library books. The book bags are stored in the red boxes under your child's peg. Please only hang your child's coat on their peg. Please note that we are not able to check the children's book bags everyday so please let us know if you have important letters in there or take them directly to the office.
Fruit Time
Please bring a named bottle of water each day for your child and put it on the water trolley provided. It is not necessary to provide a snack for your child as this is provided by the school. We offer all children milk during the day, if you do not want your child to have school milk then please let the Teacher know.
Lunchtime
The children in the Nursery eat lunch in Rainbows Classroom. Your child will need a drink and a packed lunch. Packed lunches should be brought in a bag or lunchbox labelled with the child’s name. All uneaten items will be returned in the lunchbox so you know what they have eaten.
After the children have eaten lunch they will go onto the playground. On cooler or cold days your child must bring a coat to school along with a warm hat, gloves and scarf. On warmer days your child will need a sunhat and sun cream which they will need to independently apply.
At the end of the day
Children are dismissed at 3:00pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The timings are different on Wednesdays (see above).
Contacting the class teachers
You are always able to speak to a member of the Nursery team at the beginning or end of the session. If you need to contact the Nursery during the school day, please phone the school office and leave a message or email us.
