Geography
Geography is the subject which holds the key to our future. - Michael Palin
The study of geography is about more than just memorizing places on a map. It’s about understanding the complexity of our world, appreciating the diversity of cultures that exists across continents. And in the end, it’s about using all that knowledge to help bridge divides and bring people together. - Barack Obama
At Cranmere Primary School, the aim of our geography curriculum is to foster curiosity and fascination for the world we live in. Our curriculum enables our children to think geographically, understand the physical world around them and beyond and appreciate the diversity of cultures that exist across the world. We develop the minds and learning skills of our young geographers by expanding their geographical vocabulary; deepen their understanding of physical and human geographical processes; enable them to use data from around the world; understand social, economic and political globalisation whilst learning and understanding more about their local area, the UK, Europe and the World. In developing geographical knowledge and skills, our children are able to recognise their role in becoming responsible global citizens.
