Embracing World Book Day In Song, Dress & With Lots of Spectacular Reading Activities
On Thursday it was World Book Day and our enterprising and creative pupils and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters, or in pyjamas to celebrate reading at bedtime. The whole day was spent celebrating the joy of reading with a plethora of exciting activities, and there was even time for a little celebratory world book day song...
Verse:
Well, there's Biblo,
Captian Hook & Harry P,
There's Matilda, Mr Toad
And Tracey B,
Peter Rabbit, Winnie The Pooh,
The Hungry Caterpillar too,
And the Tiger who is
Coming round for tea!
Yes, each one has a story
They'd love to share with you,
And if that tickles your fancy
Then you know what to do....
Chrorus:
Pick up a book, take a look.
At the cover and the blurb.
If you like it, dive inside it,
Lose yourself in ever word!
Well, turn the telly off
And find a cosy little nook.
Where you can sit for a bit,
And read a book!
Thank you to everyone for making an ordinary school day enchanting and magical!
Finally, continuing with our reading momentum we have decided to sign up for the Spark!
