Veni, vidi, vici!
The renowned expression although coined by Julius Caesar is indicative of how the the mighty Romans successfully established an Empire stretching from Britain, Western Europe, the Middle East to the Balkans and on into Northern Africa between 700BC to AD476. A colossal Empire which at its peak was in excess of 5 million square kilometers. This immense Empire and hence the spectacular legacy left by the Romans is what our inquisitive Year 4 pupils have been learning about this term.
They have been triumphant in studying many aspects of the Romans: history, geography, culture and art. They have especially enjoyed the topic of Roman power and how the Romans loved to remind their citizens of their conquests and their own individual heroic deeds as portrayed by the mass production of Roman Busts. Year 4 thought it was a great idea to create their own busts celebrating their self worth and courage. We personally think they did an amazing job! Do you recognise any familiar faces?
